Creative Futures – Primitive 3D Shapes

As part of a “Drawing 101” session conducted during our “Creative Futures” session, we were tasked with drawing up some Primitive 3D Shapes. You can find my contribution below!

NOTE: The following scan has a few mistakes on it. I am keeping the errors on to show my own development. I will probably upload another version of this at some point in the near future.

Notes:

Cubes

1) Light source coming from the top right of the cube.

2) Light source coming from directly over the cube.

Spheres

1) Light source coming from the left hand side of the sphere.

2) (Although not numbered on above image) Light source coming from the top right of the sphere. No shadow cast.

Cylinders

1) Cylinder standing. Light source coming from the left hand side of the cylinder.

2) Cylinder laid on side. Light source coming from the top left of the cylinder.

Cone

1) Cone standing. Light source coming from the top right of the cone.

Torus

1) Light source coming from directly over the torus.
